Could you commit to pray each day through Lent?
“then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. And he fasted forty days and forty nights, and afterward he was hungry”
Matthew 4:1-2
We sincerely invite you to join us in a commitment to pray each day through Lent, at a time that is convenient to you, in the knowledge that you are not praying alone but as part of our church families together. You don’t need to pray at the same time every day, although you might find it helpful to get into that regular pattern.
As we remember Jesus’ time in the wilderness at the start of his ministry, we take time to repent, to read our Bibles more and to pray and often to accompany our praying with fasting. It is a good time to exercise the self discipline of daily prayer as we move from the ashes of repentance for our sins at the beginning of Lent to the joy of the empty tomb on Easter Sunday!!
As we did with 40:40 prayer last year there will be a dedicated WhatsApp group that you can join to get daily prayer prompts from Ash Wednesday 17th February to Easter Sunday 4th April 2021. Just let us know on the form below if you’d like to join the WhatsApp group.
