Deane Church dates back to Saxon times with most of the current building dating back to 1452.  The oldest marked graves in the Churchyard date back to the 1620s.  As you might imagine, we receive many requests from people around the world tracing family trees and conducting other historical research.  There is a website dedicated to the history of Deane Church here.

If you are searching for a grave in the churchyard and have fairly specific information about the deceased person's name, date of burial etc then we can often conduct a search free of charge for you to locate the grave in the churchyard.  If a more extensive search of registers is required, there may be a charge (usually £31).  Please contact the Church office for queries relating to genealogy and grave searches.
