At Deane Church we hold lots of events, marking new stages of life and lots of other things too.

Calling all Superheroes!

This Halloween, you’re invited to Pumpkin Heroes – an exciting adventure sharing the light of God’s love around your community.  With lots of Bible-based hero-hunting, storytelling, craft-making, game-playing and pumpkin partying fun.

Please don’t wear Halloween costume to this party….come dressed as a superhero if you’d like to, otherwise just come as you are.

Places are limited so book your place early, by contacting Deane Church Office.

Thanksgivings and Baptism

Lots of us want to celebrate the arrival of a child into our families, and at Deane Church we want to celebrate with you too, giving thanks to God for your child and praying for him/her.  The best way of doing this is with a service of ‘Thanksgiving for the gift of a child.’ It can be seen as a stepping stone towards Baptism but unlike a service of Baptism it involves little preparation, can be done at relatively short notice and does not involve promises from parents.  Very often, especially for those who do not normally attend church, one or both parents do not feel able to make the statements of belief and promises required in the Baptism service.  A service of Thanksgiving removes this pressure.  There is further information in this booklet.
