29th – 30th July 2017
We need your help! Deane Churchyard is one of the largest churchyards in the country. Not just the size, but also the lay of the land, make maintenance a real challenge.
Sadly we have not been able to invest the resources into keeping on top of maintenance as much as we would have liked to. We are very aware that this makes it difficult, and often upsetting, for visitors to the graveyard. We are grateful to those who do take time to tend to their own family graves, but are aware that many are not able to do so. We are also aware that it is very difficult to do that where there is significant overgrowth.
On Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th July we are having a concerted effort to tackle various jobs in the graveyard, which it is just not possible for us to do on a week to week basis.
We are inviting anybody who would like to come along and help to get involved:
Saturday 29th July – 9:00am to 4:00pm
Sunday 30th July – 12:30pm – 4:00pm
We’ll be providing refreshments on both days and some equipment, but if you have your own equipment that you can bring with you then please do.
If you would like to get involved then it would be great to hear from you. Drop us a message below.
